Fluke ceviche – pear, pomegranate, mint, pumpkin seeds

As an italian food snob, it was my mistake to keep miss L’Artusi. Eventually made my first trip there several weeks back.

L’Artusi’s serious wine book really impressed me. We uncorked a bottle from Emilia-Romagna, and it paired perfectly with the food that night.

Our ceviche was refreshing. They surely used quality ingredients.


Crispy sweetbreads –  beet puree, fennel, apple, mustard greens

I wasn’t too thrilled about the frying method in terms of cooking sweetbreads. I believe there are better alternatives for this one from the carne section.


Spaghetti – garlic, chilies, parmesan

This is as good as a pasta dish gets in my world. Really old-school and modest (and definitely pricey for $17).


Brussels sprouts with pecorino


Hazelnut chocolate torta – praline crunch, salted caramel gelato

Olive oil cake – raisin marmellata, vin santo, creme fraiche mousse

 There was nothing negative I could say about my olive oil cake. Just keeping it short.
