My visit at Le Bernardin with my parents last year was a neurogastronomy experience. Here are couple unforgettable plates I feel I need to elaborate on..
1) Ultra-rare salmon – which was paired so well with the cucumber-tarragon emulsion. Its freshness kissed my tongue. 2) Yellowfin tuna layers with Foie Gras – Human taste buds were so powerless against such an addictive sequence. I kid you not. 3) Lobster Lasagna - The truffle flavoring perfectly echoed back to the umani of lobster. 4) Sautéed langoustine – not only juicy, but also retained a lively bounciness. 5) White tune-Kobe beef - A supreme version of surf and turf was right here. The grilled Escolar was gelatinous and moist. Seared Wagyu had the “tender with a chew” texture.
To me their desserts were not mind boggling good. However, for my personal preference, this seafood temple was another level above Jean George, or two above Daniel… With the flawless presentation and impeccable service, it’s a place I would want to go back over and over.
Life is just wonderful. Not bragging or anything… maybe I kind of am.
