Extra thick Bacon
The can’t-miss bacon came out dazzlingly sizzling. It had an incredibly bouncing texture. It was so fatty that every bite was satisfying from top to bottom. It was so thick that the bacon was almost like a small piece of steak in itself. And it was not overly salty that there is no other bacon in my memory packs so much character as this single stripe.
Poterhouse for two & creamed spinach
We ordered our steak medium rare, but it was cooked slightly to medium, just slightly though. It was still pinkish red and tender, retaining a slippery texture (especially for the filet mignon). Proudly, my girlfriend and I successfully split this whole plate of meat fare. For me, I don’t need any other appetizers before, or desserts after. This steak can be my perfect one-plate meal. As to the creamed spinach, it tasted superlative. Totally loved the light use of cream in this dish, it was overall bold without being too assertive.
At Peter Luger, everything was no muss no fuss and cut to the bone, just as everyone would expect. The service was really hands on here. And you get your chocolate coins when you finished your meal. It was rustic meat eating of a highest degree of finesse.
