 Azabu was lied downstairs in the basement of the Greenwich Grill. This speakeasy sushi bar is secret enough to pique my interest. My friends and I made early reservation, and tried the Omakase menu this time.

Jumbo Pacific Oysters

This pacific oyster was huge. It had a deep, clean and delicate flavor.

Uni Tasting (from the left to right were separately from Santa Barbara, Maine, and Hokkaido)

The sea urchins were all creamy and buttery, with a different level of brinishness. I liked the one from Hokkaido most. It was less sweet and with a lighter salinity.

Easily the best uni course I’ve had in the city.

Sashimi

Notice the fat yellowtail buri in the left image. It was a lesser-known kind of sashimi, and was absolutely a treasure.

Grilled Stuff

The fatty tuna was grilled to perfection.

Edomae Sushi

No frills at all. All pieces were well-made, well-seasoned, and well-balanced. Mackerel nigiri was my big hit. I also have to comment on the quality of the sushi rice. It was tender, lukewarm, and just moist enough.

Parfait with Mochi, Tiramisu, and Strawberry & Banana Meringue Cake 

Peccavi! Three delicacies ended our meal.
